A painting I'm working on based on a photo I took of an ancient oak tree from Sherwood forest in the UK a few years ago. Yes, robin hood-times tree! It was huge and I've always wanted to paint it.
It's oil, 24x30 inches..
"Of all the trees that grow so fair, / Old England to adorn, / Greater are none beneath the Sun, / Than Oak and Ash and Thorn."- Rudyard Kipling
That's beautiful Lauren! Is that the great oak in the middle of Sherwood forest that's so old it has big logs holding up the branches?
ReplyDeleteI think I remember that tree! I'm not sure if it was that one, but it had a lot of outward reaching branches and reminded me of an ent.
ReplyDeletethanks Tara :)
